Role: Business Applications Developer

Location: Europe

Department: Project Management Office

Reports to: Head of Project Management Office

1. Job Summary/Mission of the position

Business Applications Developer is responsible for development of front-end and back-end business application within the Bank. In this role, you will design and develop user-friendly front-end interfaces, create robust back-end services, and ensure the highest code quality through rigorous testing.

2. Duties and Responsibilities

The Employee’s duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following activities:

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality business applications using Python and SQL
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business users, product and project managers, to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Create robust, efficient, scalable, and secure back-end services and APIs
• Design and implement responsive and user-friendly front-end interfaces
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot issues and problems
• Implement security best practices to protect data and prevent vulnerabilities
• Write clean and maintainable code, following internal guidelines
• Implemented automated unit and integration tests
• Actively participate in peer code reviews
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and development best practices

3. Job Holder Profile

1. Education background

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT/Computer Science
• At least 5 years of work experience in the role of Business Application Developer

1. Technical competences

• Proven experience as an applications developer with expertise in Python3 and relational SQL databases
• Experience with Python modules like pandas, polars, FastAPI, starlette, pyodbc
• Proven experience with MS SqlServer is a strong advantage
• Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle
• Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery

1. Other technical skills

• Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS is considered as an asset
• Familiarity with JetBrain’s TeamCity, Docker is considered as a plus
• Preferably knowledge of Avaloq API and database structure
• Knowledge of Unified Modeling Structure is a plus

1. Soft skills/People management

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
• Attention to detail, delivering work of a high quality, free from errors
• Ability to structure work efficiently and meet deadlines

1. Languages

• Fluency in English, both oral and written
• Knowledge of Russian, French or German is considered as an asset
